Equipment and technology

The language laboratory offers technical equipment and accessories for research and teaching on loan. This offer is not only aimed at teachers, but also explicitly at students with empirical research projects.

Borrowing

All equipment can be borrowed for an initial period of 4 weeks during opening hours. To borrow equipment, it is necessary to fill out our borrowing form and send it to us before picking it up. Please click here for the form.
We recommend that you first contact us by email (sprachlabor[at]uni-koeln.de) to ensure that the desired device is available for the period.

Microphones

	BOYA 4-Channel Mini Wireless Microphone	State-of-the-art 4-channel wireless microphone system designed to enhance your audio experience. The BY-V4 supports up to four microphones simultaneously, making it ideal for multi-speaker configurations, and offers superior sound quality with advanced noise cancellation technology. USB-C is used for connection. A charging cable and your user manual are included.
	RØDE VideoMic Me-C	The VideoMic Me-C from Røde is a high-quality microphone for mobile USB-C devices that delivers incredible sound when recording video. The directionality of the microphone reduces ambient noise so that videos sound clear and crisp. The 3.5mm jack socket is used for direct audio monitoring and playback.
	RØDE VideoMic Me-L	The VideoMic Me-L from Røde is a high-quality microphone for Apple devices with a Lightning connector that delivers incredible sound when recording video. The directionality of the microphone reduces ambient noise so that videos sound clear and distinct. The 3.5 mm jack socket is used for direct audio monitoring and playback.

Bluetooth Speaker

For teaching and research only

Teufel Bluetooth Speaker: Robust Bluetooth speaker with integrated hands-free system and 16 hours of battery life. Control buttons are located on the speaker. There is also a power bank function, an AUX audio input, a battery indicator and a carrying strap. The charger is included.

Accessories

	Dell USB Slim DVD Drive	External CD drive with USB connection for playing DVDs and CDs. USB cable included (an adapter for USB to USB-C is not included).
	Power Bank	Power bank with fast charging function and digital display. Compatible with USB and USB-C. Two sliding cables (USB/USB-C and USB-C/USB-C) are included.
	Rhodesy Mini Octopus Style Tripod Stand	Tripod stand with movable legs and a remote release. Also included are two tripod adapters and a screw-on smartphone holder. An app is required for the remote release. A quick guide is included.
