Language learning materials

The language laboratory has a wide range of language learning materials that are available to all students of the University of Cologne during opening hours, even without borrowing. You can browse our stock of textbooks, exercise books, vocabulary trainers, reference books, dictionaries, exam trainers and audio materials via the USB website. The language lab also lends out external CD drives for the use of audio and additional materials.

Learning materials are available for the following languages:

Afrikaans, Arabic, Brazilian-Portuguese, Catalan, Chinese, Danish, German (also German as a foreign language), English, Filipino, Finnish, French, Greek, Indonesian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Orean, Croatian, Latin, Dutch, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (also Brazilian), Romanian, Russian, Swedish, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, Thai, Czech, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian

Borrowing

The media can be borrowed during opening hours for a maximum period of 2 weeks. If the media are not requested by another student, the loan period can be extended if necessary . Please register in advance by email (Sprachlabor@uni-koeln.de).

Only a valid student ID and a personal e-mail address are required for a one-time registration. The number of media that can be borrowed at the same time is unlimited.
